Per USA Hockey SafeSport guidelines, all coaches and managers must be screened prior to having any contact with minor children.
At the last Annual Congress, USA Hockey passed and published the SafeSport guide. The MSHL has a page dedicated to SafeSport and it is located on the Main Menu.
It is a USA Hockey SafeSport requirement that all coaches and managers must be background screened by USA Hockey prior to having any contact with minor children participating in the MSHL. On the SafeSport page is the latest list of those coaches and managers who have been screened. If your name is not on it, you cannot be in contact with MSHL players until your name gets on the list.
USA Hockey will publish, at a future date, training on the SafeSport program. That training has not been released. When it is released, coaches and managers will have to take the training (estimated to take 60 - 90 minutes).
