Coaches' Meeting Highlights

2010-05-17

MSHL Coaches approved the following actions for the 2010-11 season:

At the annual coaches' meeting on Arpil 25, the MHSL coaches present approved the following actions for the 2010-11 season:

-  Approved a change to the running clock -- when the lead is 10 goals or more, the clock will not be stopped for any reason.

- Approved removal of non-league games.  Beginning with games after 11/14/10, all games played by an MSHL club will be league games.  Conference and in-season tournament games are subsets of the league games.  Conference games/standings will be used to determine post season qualification.  The total number of games played between 11/15/10 and the end of the regular season cannot exceed 22.

-  Approved the following dates for the 2010-11 season:
10/1/10 -- first day on ice
   11/1/10 -- first day for pre-season games.
   11/15/10 -- League season begins.

The schedule for February depends on the CBHL and PVAHA playoffs.  Tentative last day of league season play is 2/11/11.  MSHL finals day is Saturday 2/26 OR Monday 2/28.  The girls final is Friday 2/25.

-- Approved formation of a Competition Committee chaired by Jim Senker (At-Large) that will report back on the feasibility of restructuring the league by skill level rather than location.
